Who are you?
Living Peace is run by an all-volunteer group of Ojai individuals and organizations committed to building a peaceful world. This year's primary organizers include: Laura Whitney, President of the Ojai Foundation; Judy Gabriel, Founder/Owner of Retreats of Ojai, and Darakshan Farber. Collaborators include the Ojai Valley Youth Foundation, the World Business Academy, the Ojai Film Society, the Safe Coalition, the Oak Grove School and many others.

What is your mission?   Living Peace in Ojai is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to advance the possibility of enduring peace in ourselves, our community and our world by offering local events and resources, and to further awareness of the U.N. International Day of Peace, a day of global cease-fire and nonviolence celebrated around the world annually on September 21st. The Ojai Foundation provides the 501(c)3 nonprofit umbrella. 

How are you funded? Living Peace in Ojai operates on donations from local individuals and businesses. This year PEACE in ACTION is being underwritten by the WORLD BUSINESS ACADEMY and two anonymous donors. 

Is this organization affiliated with the U.N.?
No, this is an independent group which supports the spirit of this day set aside by the U.N. and strives to further the reach, understanding of and impact of this important Day of Peace. For more about the creation of this day and it's celebration, click here.
